I've been gassed four times and shot in the back with a bean bag fired from a shotgun by the Oakland Police Department for standing peacefully with a thousand people. I'm done talking... We in Oakland have seen a very different Occupy happening. If you believe talk with change a machine as large and powerful as "Wall Street", good luck. Talk is exactly what they want. That's JUST Oakland. As well, MILLIONS have pulled their money out of major banks nation-wide and put their money in Credit Unions. Action speaks louder than words when it comes to money. I salute those who continue to fight on the level of diplomacy but we're dealing with a broken system. Why keep switching on THEIR mechanisms when it doesn't work? Comment on Call for March 1 Day of Action by Ivan Evans http://www.occupyed.org/home/#comment-79 Ivan Evans Wed, 21 Dec 2011 19:21:24 +0000 #comment-79 I attended the Occupy Education Northern California meeting on Saturday (12/17) and was absolutely impressed by the discipline and organization. Congrats! We can't promise the same here in "the South", but we sure are going to try! Let's make sure that labor, environmental and all other organizations are as well represented in the campaign as the educational groups are likely to be. It does not. The purpose of OWS is to unite the 99%, give everyone a voice, and create a better society. Striking is like a little flea bite to the 1%. The real solution is "listening" and "respecting." Implementing those principles in our own actions will change the world.
