Occupy University of South Florida March 1 Action

Today March 1st, Occupy USF, SDS-Tampa Bay, students, faculty, and staff staged a day of action on University of South Florida’s campus in solidarity with the Direct Actions taking place across the nation in support of Education. About 100 or so students, faculty, staff, and activists staged a walk-out and marched across campus to the Marshall Student Center where the crowd staged a “sit-in” in the main floor of the lobby and delivered a “teach-in” to stand up against the budget cuts and tuition hikes that have been happening across Florida. Our university president, Judy Genshaft, even came out to see what the commotion was about and flashed us the “bulls” sign.

Let’s keep this train running. We have the power if we stand together. Remember that

Education is a RIGHT, not a privilege!

In solidarity,

-Occupy USF-
